Greetings everyone,
thanks for being a subscriber and welcome to 2022! Today’s edition of my newsletter is a bit shorter as I am hard at work on my next book here in my writing-retreat in Lanzarote (Canary Islands), and because I only have a very simple message for you: Don’t lose hope - the future is better than we think.
2022 will be a fantastic year despite the decidedly chaotic and often unnerving crisis recovery process. This year will usher in a strange kind of ‘golden era’ - a decade of fundamental change and reformation in all aspects of our lives, around the globe. Humanity is truly at a fork in the road - and the good news is that we will surely have all the tools (science and technology) we need; we ‘just’ need to work on our TELOS (purpose, goals, values and wisdom)!
So, to kick off 2022 in the spirit of optimism, hope, recovery and reformation, here are the 3 things I want to share with you.
🙏 Enjoy, and please share widely if you like my content. Gerd Leonhard

1) The Good Future, EXPLAINED: Kick off 2022 with this video!
TheGoodFuture Explained: Digitization, Decarbonisation, Reformation: 2022!
👉 A few days ago we released The Good Future EXPLAINED, an important and powerful follow-up to my popular June 2021 film ‘The Good Future’, further exploring the key themes set forth last year. Now, I focus on what I think are the 3 tickets to The Good Future. I call them the DDR: Digitization (the ethical and humanly sustainable use of exponential technologies), Decarbonisation (the global shift away from the fossil fuel economy and towards ‘circular everything’) and Reformation (designing a ‘sustainable capitalism’ based on the 4 principles of People, Planet, Purpose and Prosperity).
⭐️I think you’ll really enjoy this new film - it’s both fast-moving and highly entertaining as well as deeply informative (imho:). You can watch it here on Youtube (with captions in 10+ languages) or on Vimeo (downloads are available here, as well). Please share it everywhere if you enjoy it 🙏!
2) A special New Year's gift, just for you: free audio-book chapters!
Happy 2022: Start here
Happy 2022: Start here
My team made this super-special microsite (using the cool padlet app) just for my subscribers, and available only for a limited time (until Jan 31), with direct and free access to 4 complete audio-chapters from my book Technology vs Humanity, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, plus a powerful and inspiring collection of videos, talks and blog posts that will get you tuned-into the new year. This special gift also includes a free “future mindset” session with me, on January 17 2022, 7pm CET - just go here to view it all; more on the Future Mindset concept can be found here.
Welcome to 2022: The year of Recovery & Reformation!
3) Exclusive Interview with Times Now India (12/ 31): Go Back To A Pre-Covid Era? | The World Tomorrow
Interview for Times Now: Can We Go Back To A Pre-Covid Era? (Gerd's version, no geo-blocks:)
Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds – Robert Oppenheimer quotes Bhagavad Gita.

Will we witness an age come where technology ends up dictating human terms?

Gerd Leonhard (@gleonhard) shares his perspective with Siddhartha Talya on this episode of #TheWorldTomorrow https://t.co/KymxPjT6Pl
Live long and prosper, and happy 2022!
Recovery and Reformation is on the top of agenda for this year!
Kind regards
