Greetings everyone, thanks for being a subscriber and welcome to 2022! Today’s edition of my newsletter is a bit shorter as I am hard at work on my next book here in my writing-retreat in Lanzarote (Canary Islands), and because I only have a very simple message for you: Don’t lose hope - the future is better than we think. 2022 will be a fantastic year despite the decidedly chaotic and often unnerving crisis recovery process. This year will usher in a strange kind of ‘golden era’ - a decade of fundamental change and reformation in all aspects of our lives, around the globe. Humanity is truly at a fork in the road - and the good news is that we will surely have all the tools (science and technology) we need; we ‘just’ need to work on our TELOS (purpose, goals, values and wisdom)! So, to kick off 2022 in the spirit of optimism, hope, recovery and reformation, here are the 3 things I want to share with you. 🙏 Enjoy, and please share widely if you like my content. Gerd Leonhard

TheGoodFuture Explained: Digitization, Decarbonisation, Reformation: 2022!
|
👉 A few days ago we released The Good Future EXPLAINED, an important and powerful follow-up to my popular June 2021 film ‘The Good Future’, further exploring the key themes set forth last year. Now, I focus on what I think are the 3 tickets to The Good Future. I call them the DDR: Digitization (the ethical and humanly sustainable use of exponential technologies), Decarbonisation (the global shift away from the fossil fuel economy and towards ‘circular everything’) and Reformation (designing a ‘sustainable capitalism’ based on the 4 principles of People, Planet, Purpose and Prosperity). ⭐️I think you’ll really enjoy this new film - it’s both fast-moving and highly entertaining as well as deeply informative (imho:). You can watch it here on Youtube (with captions in 10+ languages) or on Vimeo (downloads are available here, as well). Please share it everywhere if you enjoy it 🙏!

Interview for Times Now: Can We Go Back To A Pre-Covid Era? (Gerd's version, no geo-blocks:)
If you can’t watch the Times’ video above due to some odd geolocation blocks, try the unlisted link above:)) In this episode of The World Tomorrow with Siddhartha Talya, we interview Gerd Leonhard, a futurist, humanist, and author. The year is just about to end, and with the omicron scare, the world could go back to where it was a year ago. How does the future look for us? What does the future hold for us? These are the broad questions we tried to get answers to from Gerd. Gerd talks about the aftermaths of COVID and says, “we cannot go back to the world of 2018 or 2019. We will recover, but we will adopt a different lifestyle where the mask is an essential thing to put on. He goes on to answer many such questions
