Hi there! I hope you are safe and well despite the chaos in the world, and in the US in particular over the past week. It certainly has been a rocky and unprecedented holiday/New Year season as Covid-19 mutations pop up, vaccines are rolled out, political pressures boil, and the economy struggles in the wake of the ongoing corona-crisis. But the good news is, we are moving forward. Here in Switzerland and in many countries around the world, governments are pushing forward bold vaccination plans to protect their citizens in an attempt to return things to some kind of ‘ new normality’. Here is one thing that’s certain: We are at a pivot point, at a very unique fork in the road of human history. The decisions and actions we take now and in the next 10 years will determine the future of our species (nope, that’s not an overstatement). This is something I believe very strongly; and ‘The Fork in the Road’ will become one of my core topics for 2021 and beyond. As you can see with the articles below, I’m not alone with my concerns or my hopes, here. Happy new year, stay safe and stay hopeful! Gerd Leonhard

The number of megacities may double by the end of the decade, with close to two-thirds of humanity living in urban centers…”
