Greetings! I’m sure many of you have heard of the new social audio platform called Clubhouse, especially since Elon Musk’s interview of Mark Zuckerberg on the app (or maybe after he’ll chat with Putin, man-to-man so to speak). While I am not really excited about even more social media indulgence, I’ll be trying out this new platform (thankfully, not owned by Facebook… yet!) as a way to connect with all of you and share my thoughts on the future and state of the world. I wil be talking with fellow futurist Bernard Marr on “The Future of Society, Technology and Capitalism” this Friday, February 19 at 5pm CET (9am PST, 12 noon EST, 1pm UK). If you’re interested and already have access to the app, hop on and join our discussion. And if you don’t have Clubhouse, Bernard will also be this streaming via LinkedInLive, I’d love to ‘hear’ you there. So, here are some of the best things I’ve found over the past 7 days. Enjoy, stay safe, be well, and feel free to ping me anytime if you need something. Greetings from Zurich

The End of Analog and yet, a New Human Renaissance (exclusive)
A decade’s worth of ‘digital transformation’ in only 12 months! ‘Remote everything’ is quickly becoming the new normal. And yet… humans are not digital. We are not ‘just data’; and algorithms ≠ organisms (imho). The more we connect virtually the more we yearn for face to face, ‘meat-space’ connections. Zoom is great - but hugs are greater:)

Is privacy dead? Is democracy threatened by algorithmic media? The Future of Tech Regulation, Data Privacy and DigitalEthics
We are living in a world of unprecedented BIG TECH power and influence. The top 10 technology companies in the world are now far richer and more powerful than all of the oil & gas companies and banks combined. Is there such a thing as ‘too successful’? Too much of a good thing? I wonder. I will be publishing a new video every few days; check this ew playlist here. These videos are in a bit of different style - maybe a bit more contemplative and personal. Hope you like it.

Capitalism Needs a Reboot - Here's Why (short vid)
Extreme capitalism (as practiced in the US and Brazil, for example) and ‘corporate capitalism’ is the root cause underlying many of our largest challenges today, such as inequality and social or racial injustice (all of which are being accelerated by Covid-19). But to move toward a better human future, we must go beyond GDP and the ‘invisible hand.’ Or, as Marc Benioff likes to say: “Capitalism as we know it is dead”.

The Good Future: People Planet Purpose Prosperity: My Newest 2021 Speaking Topic
Amidst the everyday realities of climate change and humanity’s worsening prospects, the world is changing as citizens of the world push for much needed change. Between rising demands for plant-based meat, reduced air travel, and the all-out war on plastic bags and pollutive straws, the waves of change are rippling through our world to create new and unique business opportunities. Sustainable is the New Profitable. PURPOSE is the new Product. The Future is not something that just happens to us – it’s something we CREATE.
