Greetings everyone, there was really only one hot topic this week, and that’s Facebook. This story is developing very fast and imho it could quickly further mushroom into Snowden-like proportions. If you hold Facebook stock this is a tough spot to be in, for sure. I’d know what to do, tho.
To me, personally, the Cambridge Analytica debacle is the straw that broke the camel’s back - enough is enough. I have already deleted the Facebook app on my iPhones, and  I am plotting how exactly to leave Facebook, completely (not an easy task, rest assured). My ad campaigns have been pulled quite some time ago, as well.
⚡️⚡️MUST WATCH BELOW: I was interviewed by CNNMoney, here in Switzerland, a few weeks ago, on Facebook’s future (back then, this was ‘just’ about the U.S. election-mingling stuff) and CNN just released the episode yesterday. Much of what I talk about with the anchor, Ana Maria Montero, is oddly prescient when seen in context with what happened the last few days 👁.
I figured this would be worthy of a special edition of my newsletter.
Last not least: maybe a paid social network would finally be a plausible idea?  Please take this quick survey (2 questions:)
Warm regards from Switzerland

Facebook is no longer ‘social’ anything – it’s an AI-platform that needs to be regulated. By Futurist Gerd Leonhard
So here is my question:  Would you support a new kind of Facebook; a PAID social network that would not engage in data-mining, not run ads, have no investors and not look for an IPO? A place where you could safely share things with your friends, where there would be no secondary purpose but to make sure the best possible tools for that would be provided….?  Please take this survey !!
